Levantine Folk Dance: Dabke

Moussa – Lebanese-American Dabke Instructor

Born and raised in the vibrant Lebanese community of Detroit, Michigan, Moussa has dedicated over 20 years to mastering the traditional Levantine folk dance known as Dabke (also called Dabkeh or Dabka). Immersed in the rich cultural heritage of Dearborn, he discovered his passion for this energetic and rhythmic group dance at a young age. For the past two decades, Moussa has been a proud member of a professional zaffa group, performing Dabke at weddings, cultural events, and celebrations across the U.S.

Through his deep love for the dance and his commitment to sharing it with others, Moussa has been teaching Dabke to students of all ages and backgrounds. His classes not only focus on the technical steps and movements but also embrace the cultural significance and joy of Dabke. With a unique blend of experience, passion, and cultural pride, Moussa continues to inspire a new generation of dancers, helping to preserve and spread the art of Dabke within the Arab community and beyond.
